Filmin Ilk Ebrusu - The First Ebru for the Film

İstila stop motion filmi set tasarımında ebru sanatıyla yapılmış desenler kullanmak istiyoruz. Ebruları evimde kurduğum küçük atölyemde yapmaya çalışıyorum. Ebru yapmayı çok seviyorum. Film için hazırladığım ilk ebrunun yapılışını sizlerle paylaşmak istiyorum.

Suda renklerin dansını kağıtlarda görmeye hazırmısınız?

Hello!!! I am Asu, I am going to work on this project with Yasemin. I have been following up her stop motion film project, which I think is unbelievable. Yasemin, thank you very much for working with me and I am looking forward to watching your film! In designing the set for the Invasion stop motion film, we want to use patterns created with the art of Ebru. I am working on the Ebru patterns in my small studio inside my house. I like making Ebru very much! I would like to share with you how I prepared the very first Ebru for our film.

EBRU YAPIM AŞAMALARI

-İlk işimiz kitre hazırlamak

Toz kitre ( resimde üstte ilk karede görülen toz kitre ) suyun içerisine atılır. Kitrenin kaç gram atılacağı ve suyun kaç litre olacağı teknenin boyutlarına göre belirlenir.

Suyu kitre ile yoğunlaştırmak gerekmektedir. Kitre boyaları yüzeyde tutar ve kağıda geçmesini sağlar. Kitre suya atıldıktan sonra ilk 24 saat beklenir ve kitre suyun içerinde şişer. ( resimde ikinci karede kitre suya atıldığı an )

Sonra süzme aşamaları başlar. Tül çorap yada tülbet üzerinden geçirilen kitre suyun içerisinde parçalar kalmayacak şekilde eritilmelidir. ( ben bu ayarı uzun süre yapamadım, en sonunda eşimin aklına kitreyi mikserin parçalayıcısıyla eritmek geldi, yaptık ve sonuç inanılmaz oldu. Canım eşim benim...teşekkürler...)

Kitrenin olup olmadığını anlamak için,

-suya bir çubukla çizgi yap, dalgalanma yoksa çizginin izi kalıyorsa !!! süper !!!
-süzerken parçalar kalmamışsa kitre suyla anlaşmış demektir.

Son olarak kitreni tekneye alırken bir kez daha süzebilirsin, içerisinde yabancı maddeler ( tozlar, pislikler ) varsa böylece onlardan da kurtulabilirsin. ( Yukarıdaki son resimde kitre tekneye alınırken son süzme işlemi yapılıyor. )

-Şimdi boyalarını ( renklerini ) kitreyle barıştırmalısın

Ebru toprak boyalarla yapılır. Boyaların kitre içerisinde düzgün bir şekilde açılmaları sağlanmalıdır. Bunun için sığır ödü kullanılır. Sığır ödü renklerin birbirine karışmadan birbirlerini iterek suda hareket etmesini sağlar.

Herhangi bir rengin sudaki durumunu nasıl görebilirim?

Biz denilen çubukla boyaya daldırmak suretiyle biraz al ve kitreye değdir bir damla boyayı kitreye koy ve sudaki açılmasına bak. Eğer yuvarlak olarak düzgün bir şekilde açılıyorsa bu rengin ebru için hazır demektir.

Kullanacağın bütün renkler için bunu uygulamalısın!!!( ebru yapmak isteyenler için şimdiden sabır diliyorum, ama suyun ve renklerin kardeşliğini yakalamak inanın çok güzel!!! )

Evet kitre ve boyalar hazır artık ebruya başlayabiliriz!!!

STAGES OF MAKING EBRU

-Preparing the kitre is the first thing to do. In a large bowl, mix powdered kitre with water (first picture,top-left). Amount of kitre and water to be used depends on the size of your Ebru tray. Then wait for 24 hours while the kitre expands and rises in water (second picture from left). Powdered kitre makes water thicken so that paint designs remain intact on the surface of water to be easily absorbed by paper in later stages of making Ebru. Take the risen kitre out and put it inside a cheese cloth or women's stockings. Squeeze and drain the kitre back into the water. Repeat this step several times. I was unable to dissolve the kitre completely. Finally, my husband came up with this great idea of using a kitchen mixer to dissolve any small particles of kitre remaining in the water. It worked and the result was incredible! Thanks to my dear husband!!To check if your kitre is ready for use: (1) Draw a line on the kitre with a stick. İf the line remains!!!, super!!! (2) there should be no undissolved kitre particles passing through the cheese cloth during draining. Using the same cheese cloth or stockings, drain the Ebru water into your tray to remove any remaining foreign particles in the water. Now you have the Ebru water (also called the kitre) in your tray.

-Now, you must bring your paint and your kitre into a peaceful coexistance.Natural paint is used in the making of Ebru. Ox gall is mixed into the paint to maintain the shape and form of each paint design on the Ebru water. The Ox gall enables different colors float on the water without mixing up with each other. To check if a particular paint is ready for Ebru, dip an awl into the paint and take a sample. Drip one drop on your kitre and watch how it moves. If the drop expands into a well rounded circle, then the paint is ready for use. Repeat the same test for all the colors you will use!!! It takes a lot of patience on your part to do this step, but believe me it is worth to see the moment when colors and water finally work together!!!

-Now, the kitre and the colors are ready. We can start doing Ebru.

Fırçamızı boya kabı içerisinde ( boya kapları küçük cam kavanozlar ) iyice karıştırıp fırçayı biraz sıkıyoruz.

Fırçayı resimdeki gibi tutup, elimize vurarak boyayı teknenin her tarafına dağıtıyoruz. İlk renk yeşil attık.

Yeşil üzerine sarı renk attık.

Dip your brush into a paint jar and stir it up. Take the brush out and squeeze the excess paint. Hold the brush with one hand as shown in the picture. tapping the brush with the other hand, sprinkle the paint all over the water surface in your tray. I sprinkled first some green paint, then some yellow one over the green.

Bizle teknenin içini yukarıdan aşşağıya çizgiler halinde tarıyoruz. Ot görünümlü bir ebru elde ettik.

Next, comb the surface of the water top down with an awl and form vertical lines. There, you got your first Ebru, which looks like a field of weeds. Tekne boyutundan biraz küçük olarak kestiğimiz kağıdı köşelerden birinden hizalayarak suyun üzerine kapatıyoruz.

Kağıdın üzerinde biraz bizle dolaş, önce birinci köşeyi sonra onu takip eden köşeyi kaldır ve kağıdı yavaşca tekneye sıyırarak çek.

Artık bir ebrumuz var...

Kağıdı zarar görmeyeceği düz bir zemine koy ya da mandalla ipe asabilirsin. Kuruyana kadar bekle ... Bizle değişik taramalar yaparak yeni ebrular elde edebilirsin.

Geleneksel Ebru Sanatında burada örnek olarak gösterdiğimiz ebru (gel-git) bizle taramalarla yapılan ebrulardır. Suyu enine ve boyuna tarayabilirsiniz, köşelerden tarayabilirsiniz ya da tarak denilen malzeme ile ebru yapabilirsiniz.

Bu ebrular çiçek desenli ebrular için taban olarak kullanılabilir. Sadece taban olarak yapılan somaki (mermer) ve battal ebru çeşitleri de vardır.

Bizim hazırlayacağımız istila filmi için, sadece gel git ve somaki taban ebrular yeterli olacak.

İlerde somaki ebru yapımıyla ilgili de blogumuzda bir yazı yer alacaktır.

Take a white piece of paper that is slightly smaller in size than your Ebru tray. Using one corner as your reference, line the paper on one edge of the Ebru tray and carefully place the paper on the surface of the water. With an awl, go over the paper gently to remove any air bubbles. First, hold the two corners of the paper that are on your side. Lift and slide the paper out of the water first towards yourself,scraping off the excess paint on the edge of the tray. Then, lift it up out of the water completely. Now, we have an Ebru!!!

You can use your awl to comb the surface of the Ebru water in different directions and forms to create new Ebru designs. In traditional Ebru Art, this type of Ebru is called 'gel-git'(come-go). Using an awl or an Ebru comb, you can comb the water surface in horizantal, vertical or diagonal fashion. This type of Ebru designs can later be used as background / base for flower designs. In addition to Gel-Git, Somaki (marble) and Battal are the two other Ebru types used as base. For our film the Invasion, I will use Gel-Git and Somaki types.
